Art room UNDERWOOD is located on the 23, Rubinstein street, which many residents of St. Petersburg called "Dovlatov`s House", as the famous writer Sergei Dovlatov lived in one of the communal apartments of this house for almost 30 years, from 1944 to 1972.
Our name is connected with the legendary typewriter UNDERWOOD, which Dovlatov used to write their works. The outline of his typewriter can be seen in the sculpture, located right under the windows of our place. Our guests are greeted by an antique working version of the UNDERWOOD typewriter, despite his advanced age.
